    * Performance tweaks to handle larger chunks of I/O.
    * Version and Phone Number tags added in the XML, CVS.
    * Better error and exception handling.
    * Internationalization support framework base. (Txtract 1.2 is only available in English)

Bug Fixes:

    * In the XML output <SMS> tag was closing at the wrong spot.
    * A few screen rendering issues.

Known Issues

Hi,
I am greatly anticipating using this to save SMS messages!
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to see my SD card; any suggestions for this error:
"txtract cannot access the SD card"

I've got photos and MP3's on a 4GB SD card that I can access just fine (as well as add new ones).
I've tried unmounting the SD card (wasn't sure if you meant unmount from PC or actually unmount the card, so I tried it)
I've also tried creating the /downloads/txract directory ahead of time.

Thanks for taking the time to work on this!

I had the same problem with it not finding the SD card. I unmounted and ejected then put the card in an sd reader on my pc and created the download/txtract folders. When I put the sd card back in my G1 I was then able to extract however the issue I have now have a new issue.

1. extract in xml then try to read it in the cpu and get an error that says "xml document must have a top level element" with the error code: -1072896680

2. extract in cvs and just says unable to read document.

Both files show on the sd card in just looking at the folders however both files show 0kbs and there was approximately 100 messages extracted.

updated: After unmounting the SD card, powercycle, replacing the SD card the app worked in both XML and CVS formats.

snowdogdb:::: I noticed your post shows you created the /dowloads/txract directory. I did create the directory as well however mine shows and /download/txtract so not sure if the s after downloads is causing the error however if you spelled it in the post the way you did when creating the directory then you have txract but should have txtract. Try adding the t after the x and see if that solves the problem. Hope this helps unless the support team has some additional research to resolve your problem.

Thanks for suggestions and input. Txtract v. 1.3 resolved the auto directory creation problem. That was indeed a nasty bug, which woke me up in the middle of my sleep and made me packup 1.3 for release at 4AM Smiley
